Saturday, October 18, 2026 – Colombo & Negombo

Ayubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka. Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you’ll be met by a local representative and transferred to your hotel in nearby Negombo. At 6 pm, meet your leader and fellow travellers for a welcome meeting.

If you arrive early, enjoy some downtime on the beach. Later, head out for a seafood dinner featuring favourite Sri Lankan flavours like pol sambol (coconut relish) and crisp roast paan. (D)


Sunday, October 19, 2026 – Negombo to Dambulla

Rise early for an authentic start at the bustling Negombo fish market, where mornings bring a lively rush of vendors selling everything from crab to squid.

Afterward, travel to Dambulla, your home for the next three nights. In the late afternoon, visit one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites: the Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. After the climb, enjoy spectacular views and your leader’s insight into the ancient civilisation that once lived here.

Return to Dambulla for a Sri Lankan-style BBQ dinner with grilled fish and vegetables, plus a demonstration of traditional chili–coconut sambol. (B, D)


Monday, October 20, 2026 – Dambulla & Anuradhapura

Travel north to Anuradhapura, the first ancient capital and part of Sri Lanka’s famed Cultural Triangle. Explore the giant stupas of Ruwanweliseya and Jetawanaramaya, visit the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi Tree (believed to be the world’s oldest human-planted tree), and admire the beautiful carvings at Isurumuniya Temple.

Return to Dambulla for an evening at leisure. (B)


Tuesday, October 21, 2026 – Dambulla to Polonnaruwa to Dambulla

Today brings the second great capital of the Cultural Triangle: Polonnaruwa. Discover the ruins of palaces and temples, the impressive seven-storey royal palace, the giant Rankot Vihara stupa, and the extraordinary rock-cut Buddha statues of Gal Vihara.

Visit the towering statue of King Parakramabahu I before returning to Dambulla for a relaxing evening. (B)


Wednesday, October 22, 2026 – Dambulla to Kandy (via Matale)

Begin with a visit to the magical Dambulla Cave Temple, home to more than 150 Buddha statues and richly painted murals dating back over 2,000 years.

Continue to Kandy, stopping en route at a spice garden in Matale to learn how cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and cloves shaped Sri Lanka’s history and cuisine.

Arrive in Kandy for an evening at leisure. (B)


Thursday, October 23, 2026 – Kandy

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of the Royal Botanical Gardens with a local botanist who will help you spot orchids and endemic birdlife. Visit the gem museum and lapidary workshop, where you’ll learn about Sri Lanka’s gemstone heritage.

Lunch is at Hela Bojun, a women-run social enterprise empowering rural Sri Lankan women.

Later, visit the home of a local dancer for an intimate, private cultural performance before heading to the Temple of the Tooth Relic for the evening pooja — a moving ceremony of drums, offerings and devotion. (B, L)


Friday, October 24, 2026 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (Train)

Board a scenic morning train to Nanu Oya, continuing by road into Nuwara Eliya, the heart of tea country. Known for its cool climate and British colonial charm, this hill town feels like a step back in time.

Check in to the historic Grand Hotel, your feature stay for two nights, and enjoy a traditional high tea in the afternoon. Spend the evening exploring the hotel gardens or relaxing in the elegant surroundings. (B)


Saturday, October 25, 2026 – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, head to Single Tree Hill for a short hike with sweeping views across tea estates and rolling hills.

Next, tour a tea factory still using traditional production methods, followed by a tasting of Sri Lanka’s world-famous Ceylon tea. Enjoy lunch at the storied Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, one of the oldest in Asia. (B, L)


Sunday, October 26, 2026 – Nuwara Eliya to Ella to Tissamaharama

Travel toward Sri Lanka’s southeast, stopping in the charming highland town of Ella for magnificent views over the Ella Gap.

Continue to Yala National Park, known for its wildlife and one of the world’s highest densities of leopards. Enjoy a 4WD safari through grasslands, lagoons and forest before settling into your resort near the quieter back entrance of the park. Dinner included. (B, D)


Monday, October 27, 2026 – Tissamaharama

Rise early for a second safari in Yala National Park. Expect sightings of elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, monkeys and vibrant birdlife.

If Yala is closed for regeneration, the day will instead be spent in Bundala National Park, known for its wetlands and abundant wildlife. Enjoy dinner at the resort. (B, D)


Tuesday, October 28, 2026 – Tissamaharama to Galle

Depart for Galle, a coastal gem with Dutch-era charm. Begin with a visit to a village outside the city to learn the traditional craft of Beeralu lace weaving — a hands-on, women-centred cultural experience.

Then enjoy a guided walk through Galle Fort, with its mix of ancient churches, mosques, boutiques and ocean views. (B)


Wednesday, October 29, 2026 – Galle

This morning is yours to spend as you wish. Consider visiting a cinnamon plantation, watching birdlife at Hiyare Rainforest Reservoir, or simply enjoying the seaside atmosphere.

In the late afternoon, join your leader at the Galle farmers’ market to learn about fresh local ingredients. Continue to a local home for a Sri Lankan cooking class and dinner featuring dishes like Ambulthiyal fish curry and lentil dhal. (B, D)


Thursday, October 30, 2026 – Galle to Colombo

Travel to Colombo and enjoy a northern Sri Lankan lunch in a historic courtyard restaurant.

Your leader will guide you on a fascinating city walk through Colombo’s Pettah market, the striking Red Mosque, and streets lined with Dutch and British architectural influences.

In the evening, you may choose to gather with your fellow travellers for a final dinner to celebrate the journey. (B, L)
