Day 1: Sat 7 Oct: Arrival – Johannesburg
Upon arrival, we will be met and transferred to our hotel.
Day 2: Sun 8 Oct: Johannesburg (B, D)
Today we will head for a full-day tour of Constitution Hill, the Soweto Township, and a visit to the Apartheid Museum. We will enjoy a special welcome dinner in Soweto.
Day 3-6: Mon 9, Tue 10, Wed 11, Thurs 12 Oct: The Sabi Sand Reserve and Notten’s Bush Camp (B,L,D)
You will transfer this morning to Johannesburg airport for your flight to Skukuza (cost of flight not included). On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Sabi Sand Reserve and Notten’s Bush Camp for four nights. Notten’s is an exclusive and private safari lodge personally run by the Notten family. Each private suite is elegantly styled, spacious, and cooled by ceiling fans. A magical atmosphere is created with the purposeful absence of electric lighting; the ambient candlelight and lanterns capture an enchanting spirit of romance. With splendid panoramic views, this private game lodge is the perfect place for peace and relaxation while watching animals meander past.
Day 7: Fri 13 Oct: Port Elizabeth (B)
This morning after a last morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred to Skukuza airport for your flight to Port Elizabeth via Johannesburg (cost of flight not included). You are met on arrival by your Garden Route guide and transferred to the Isango Gate Hotel for your overnight rest.
Day 8: Sat 14 Oct: Knysna (B)
This morning we join the famed ‘Garden Route’ as we drive to Knysna. Along the way, we will visit Tsitsikamma National Park which lies on this stretch, and the stunning Storm’s River. Nestled along the Indian Ocean coast, the park offers some breathtaking scenery. Knysna is one of the most beautiful quaint little towns along the Garden Route and nestles between the impressive Outeniqua Mountains, the Indian Ocean. Knysna is often called the ‘Martha’s Vineyard of the Garden Route’ with its many seaside cafes, art galleries, and curio shops.
Continue to visit the Birds of Eden and Monkeyland near Plettenburg Bay.
Day 9: Sun 15 Oct: Knysna (B)
You have the full day to explore Knysna whether on your own or with your guide. Set out to explore its many seaside cafes, art galleries, and curio shops.
This late afternoon will be capped off with a sunset cruise on the scenic Knsyna Lagoon where we will enjoy the sunset in this magical part of the world accompanied with sparkling wine and canapés.
Day 10: Mon 16 Oct: Oudtshoorn (B,D)
After breakfast, you will undertake a leisurely drive of a few hours to Oudtshoorn in the arid ‘Little Karoo’ region of the Cape. Oudtshoorn is known as the ‘feather capital of the world’ thanks to its huge ostrich industry. You will tour one of the region’s Ostrich farms as well as visit the mysterious Cango Caves, just a half-hour north of Oudtshoorn.

Day 11: Tue 17 Oct: Stellenbosch (B)
It’s an early start this morning as we will rise early for a visit to the local Meerkat colony to enjoy the company of these delightful creatures when they are at their most active.
Continue with your guide as we drive the last stretch of the Garden Route and into the Winelands, set just an hour outside of Cape Town and blessed with heavenly scenery with breathtaking views. Check into your boutique accommodations set in Stellenbosch for two nights.
Day 12: Wed 18 Oct: Stellenbosch (B)
Today you will be pickup up for a full day guided Cape Winelands tour. The area’s rich with history, and you can’t help but feel it as you move through the region. You will make stops at three different wineries with an included light lunch where you’ll learn all about the process of winemaking, from grape to goblet.
Day 13: Thu 19 Oct: Cape Town (B)
This morning we depart for Cape Town, one of the world’s most beautiful cities. On arrival in Cape Town, we will enjoy an exploration of the city and learn about its fascinating history. We will explore Table Mountain, ride the cable car and enjoy its spectacular views over the Peninsula. We will visit the Cape Castle, Company Gardens, Houses of Parliament, the Malay Quarters, and Greenmarket Square
Day 14: Fri 20 Oct: Cape Town (B)
Your guide will collect you for a spectacular journey around the Cape Peninsula taking in all the highlights and breathtaking beauty of this world-renowned region, including a stop at the famous Boulder’s Beach where the penguins are located as well as the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive. Travel through historic suburbs of Muizenberg, St James and Simon’s Town, charming fishing villages of Kalk Bay and Hout Bay, and beautiful viewpoints on the way to Cape Point, where the mighty Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet in harmony. Your guide will stop in one of the areas for lunch. Enjoy a special farewell dinner this evening with your fellow travelers.
Day 15: Sat 21 Oct: Departure (B)
Your last day is yours to do as you wish, whether you fancy some more shopping in the V& Waterfront or perhaps book the excursion to Robben Island, known for its most infamous inmate, Nelson Mandela. Later today in accordance with your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your return journey home.
